I photographed Kathryn and Stephen Engagement Andrew Haydon Park and the Ottawa Nepean Marina. I had never been to the park and when I scouted the location with my husband and my puppy the weekend prior we were happily surprised. We particularly loved the pet friendliness of the park. We are used to park that do not allow dog, but this one was particularly pet friendly. We event saw a large black pig on a leach at the beginning of the engagement session.
We started the session with some of the last apple blossom trees in the city and then moved around the park to finish at the marina at sunset. I was so excited about this session because I love marina so much and it was such a treat to not only discover a new marina, but also photograph a couple in love there!
I received Kathryn and Stephen’s inquiry on New Year’s Eve and they are getting married this weekend on Canada Day. I am not sure if it is because they love fireworks or not, but either way I cannot be happier to be celebrating with Kathryn and Stephen as Canada turns 150 year young. They are getting married at NeXT in Stittsville, I have never photographed a wedding there, so I am really excited to see the venue and all the beautiful location we will find for bride and groom portraits.
They will be doing a first look and will see each other before the ceremony. I am so happy for them that they decided to do that because it will allow them to spend more time with each other and to savour their wedding day so much more than if they had waited for the ceremony before seeing each other. They also wanted to go out at sunset to take some romantic bride and groom sunset portrait, which will allow them some time to themselves to let the fact that they are married sink in!
Cute!! Love that pop of red in her dress!! Lovely photos, Charlie! x
