This spring wedding at the Ivy Lea Club in the Thousand Islands was so special for me because that’s where Michael and I got married 3 years ago. I first met Amie in Bill almost two years ago when they had just got engaged and we immediately bonded over our favourite venue. When Amie asked me to photograph their engagement at Boldt Castle in the Thousand Islands, I was so excited and their engagement session was so much fun. They stop by the Ivy Lea Club for some food before driving through the border, and we talked about the amazing food they ate during their session.
Fast forward to April 21, 2018, the day of their spring wedding at the Ivy Lea Club in the Thousand Islands. The weather was a little chilly, but oh so sunny! It felt amazing being back at the Ivy Lea Club and seeing the amazing restaurant manager and event coordinator Marije again. She was the Rock Star behind both my wedding and Amie’s wedding! She provides the best experience a bride can want!
Amie and her girls got ready on site and it was a perfect start to the day, hanging out with the girls, getting ready together. They were so lucky that the weather was much better than forecast and they were able to do their ceremony outside by the St Lawrence River. My favourite part of their day was when we escaped the reception to go take some sunset portraits of just the two of them by the water. The Thousand Islands area is so pretty, I am happy we were able to capture extra romantic and timeless portraits as husband and wife. The Ivy Lea Club has so many great portrait locations, it was nice to be able to go around the property at sunset to capture them all for Amie and Bill. One last thing worth noting, is that the food at the Ivy Restaurant is AMAZING!!! And if you are getting married at the Ivy Lea Club, you must choose the Inside out onion soup as your starter. Best soup I have ever ate, three years later and my guests are still talking about it!
