When I met Yohana and Shane for their Summer Arboretum engagement session, we hit it off right away. They are my kind of couples, they were lay back, laugh the whole evening and loved spending time with each other. They love and happiness was contagious and I couldn’t help but smile. They were on holiday that week and had a really relaxed approach, which was amazing! Shane loves nature, trees and birds, so the Arboretum was a perfect location for their session!
As we walked around the Arboretum, we discovered a few trees still in bloom in late June, which as such a nice surprise for the Summer! The weather forecast was lovely that evening. But as their engagement photography session advanced, clouds covered the Ottawa Arboretum, and the sky opened to a summer shower. While I was photographing them snuggling under their umbrella, a group of 90 (yes, nine zero) teenagers rolled in between us in the rain! It was pretty comical. But Yohana and Share were trouper, and instead of worrying about the rain, they embraced it and they had fun walking together in the rain under an umbrella.
It was still raining as we walked back to the car. But as fast as the rain arrived, it subsided while we drove the Experimental Farm Green Houses for the second part of their engagement session. They got changed into their second outfits and Yohana’s white dress and Shane’s floral shirt were a perfect complement to the glowing light of the green houses. Since they last time I visited the green houses mid-May for Chelsea and James’ Arboretum Engagement session, they had planted gorgeous tropical plants at the entrance.
Yohana and Shane, I had an amazing night photographing your engagement session! Your laughter and happiness is contagious. You are both amazing and I cannot wait to photograph your wedding in September 🙂
