One of the reasons why we decided to have a first look was to be able to spend time with our guest during the cocktail hour and to be able to enjoy ourselves. Doing all our photos before the ceremony allowed us the time to chat with our guests that came from quite far away, allowing us to eat during the dinner instead of having to go from table to table to say hi to people.
My favourite drink is the Shirley Temple, so we had a Charlie Temple and a Michael Temple (which was a Shirley Temple with vodka). My dad made a giant Jenga for the event. It was a hit and a lot of fun!
We also use the cocktail hour to take a family photo with Michael’s family who was away before the ceremony.
