The average temperature in Wakefield, Quebec in February is usually around -20C, but it was surprisingly warm for Jacquie and Owen’s Styled Elopement at Le Belvedere on the mountaintop surrounded by forests. We were hoping for a nice snowy day, but instead it was pouring down with rain and the fog hid the amazing view of the surrounding mountains. Although the weather wasn’t really nice, Le Belvedere was perfect to shelter the rain and the fog complimented the elopement’s details, providing a soft and romancing backdrop to their elopement photographs. On the day, the weather did not faze Jacquie and Owen at all because all they could see was each other.
Jinbon created an amazing highlight video of the styled elopement:
The inspiration for the elopement was to let the setting speak for itself and for the details to complement the nature surrounding the mountain top view at Le Belvedere in Wakefield. Jacquie and Owen had been thinking about eloping for a while and it was important for the details to be simple yet romantic. Jacquie’s engagement ring and earing are custom made with uncut diamond by Stór by Margot and were a perfect fit for the surprise fog that lifted from the mountain in this surprisingly foggy day. We were expecting -20C weather, but the warmer weather led to fog hiding the amazing mountain view. The elopement announcements by Wishtree Invitations and Design were simple with grey calligraphy and greenery to complement the evergreens in the forest below. They are perfect to send to close friends and family announcing their elopement. Jacquie and Owen’s vows were written in calligraphy by Sarah Alexandra from Von Maydell Creatives. Sarah Alexandra also hand wrote letters to each other.
The decor was designed and put together by Carla from Capital Florist. The simple white table, chairs and large candles from Pearl Decor were brought to life by a large white and green flowy flower arrangement and two small naked cakes. The glass charger plates were perfect cake holders and simple flowers completed the cakes perfectly. Von Maydell Creatives hand designed the Mr and Mrs place holders on glass tiles. The menu designed by Wishtree finished the simple look.
The florals were designed by Carla from Capital Florist. She created a large bouquet with white flowers and a lot of greenery that complimented the elopement announcement and menu. She also created a garland for the ceremony altar. The ceremony itself was simple and Jacquie and Owen exchanged vows under the Belvedere. Carla also designed a boutonniere for Owen and small cake toppers for the two small naked cakes. Finally, she created a large flower arrangement for the table and for the sitting area during cocktail hour.
Kasey from Cellar 82 came to make a couple of Gin based cocktails. She made one in a round glass with a floating flower for cocktail hour and she made a His and Her cocktails with small Mr and Mrs tags hand calligraphed by Von Maydell Creatives to drink with the cake.
Jacquie’s wedding dress was designed by Truvelle Bridal from Norde Bridal was wintery, whimsical and romantic; with its white sequin top and flowy skirt. It was a perfect fit for the soft hair style by Shelby from Showpony Hair. Jacquie is herself a makeup artist at Artistry by Jacquie and did her own timeless makeup. Her ring and earing were custom uncut diamond jewelry designed by Stór by Margot. Owen was wearing a Stephano Menswear and Tailoring grey suit, navy bowtie and white pocket square. His ring was also designed by Stór by Margot with a small black diamond.
