In December, I was invited into the home of a Westboro family to photograph a baby bath time lifestyle session. Although I specialise in wedding photography, I love photographing lifestyle sessions. If find lifestyle photography fascinating. It opens a window in a day in a life of a family and freezes their day to day moments for ever. My favourite moments in my own family are the small day to day happy moments. Documenting these for others is such a nice feeling.

What made this baby bath time lifestyle session special

This baby girl loves bath time! I was invited in this family’s gorgeous home in Westboro, Ottawa, to photograph this little girl bath and story time. Once in the water, she was happy as a fish. Being only seven months old, she loved putting everything in her little mouth. Her favourite was trying to drink the water out of the urn and playing with her pink hippo. Although she loved the water so much, she also loved the post bath cuddles. One of the reason she was such a happy and playful baby was that she had a nice long nap before I arrived to photograph the lifestyle bath time session.

What Makes Lifestyle Photography so Great

Lifestyle family photography is really different than posed family sessions. It makes your family truly shines. It allows the photographer to capture your true character of your children because time flies and their little face will change at all stages of their life. My favourite photos of my childhood were the day to day moment of growing up. The bath time, play time, my brother and I playing together, us sleeping on our dog, us playing dress up, us playing at the beach, or camping. Although we also had nice family portrait, my favourite remains the images that show me how great life was when I was growing up. For my parents it was a reminder of the time that had past and of the different stages of life. All these photographs are now in albums and boxes for us to cherish for another 30 years to come.
