New Website

The blog and website are finally fully transitioned to the Barnett Company! Yay! This transition had been long time coming. Michel and I have been talking about it for about a year, brain storming a new name for our new company and talking about website design and technical details.

It was pretty hard coming out with a new name as most name we were coming out with no longer had an available domain. At the end it was a choice between The Barnett Company and Michael and Charlie photography. Given all our big goals for the future of the company The Barnett Company made the most sence as it will withstand the test of time.

For the website itself, I knew exactly what I had in mind and I had the necessary skills, so I decided to design the website myself. I used the platform Showit 5 to build our brand new custum website. Although I found the learning curve steep at first, Showit grew on me, and it suddenly became my best tool.

The new website is designed with the engaged couple in mind, walking them through the site and the Barnett Experience. The blog, previously Charlie Barnett Blog, was also migrated over the same domain. Although most famous US based wedding photographers use two different domains for their website and their blog, I found it did not make sence for us to separate the two.
