I met this sweet family in their home in Brockville for a newborn lifestyle session in their grey and pink nursery. Mackenzie was a great baby to photograph. It was nice to see Chelsea and Charlie again. I first met them at Charlie’s brother’s wedding I was photographing last summer in Brockville. I was really happy to learn that they were expecting a baby girl and was so grateful to be able to document their life as it is in this season on their life. It is particularly special for tiny babies, because newborns do not stay little for long. I am certain they will cherish the photographs of their brand-new baby girl for a lifetime.
In addition to the more traditional family portraits, we did a lifestyle session in the baby room. Mackenzie’s nursery was decorated beautifully, and I couldn’t help but capturing some of the decor. It was a charm photographing there! I particularly loved how her name was laser cut on the wall with a pretty pink cloud, and the gorgeous frame with a feminine floral moose. The grey and pink colour palette carried over to every detail in her bedroom and the whole room felt soft, calm and feminine.
I find lifestyle sessions so special as we document their day to day life as it is at that moment. The images become a window into their life that will be changing so quickly. I photographed events as they would have unfolded if I wasn’t there. I was able to document Mommy feeding her baby girl, changing her dipper and nap time. These are all special moments that are part of their routine now, but soon won’t be anymore. Soon Mackenzie will be a toddler, crawling around the house, and her tiny figure will be a memory that they will be able to relive every day through the images we have taken.
