The fall as a big season for David and Nina, they had bought a house and were going on a Europe trip. The morning before going to the airport, David brought Nina the top of Mont Royal in Montreal to take in the view of his favourite city like they often did, and he went down on one knee and ask her to be his wife. Although she knew that the proposal was coming eventually, she probably expected it to happen in Europe instead of on the day they were departing for Europe. But this moment was so special and this is why they wanted to have their engagement photographs taken in Montreal where she said yes to spending the rest of her life with him.
Montreal is also his favorite place on Earth. Although they met in Ottawa through mutual friends, they were both born in Montreal. They both grew up listening to the same music, going to the same concerts at the same venues, but since she grew up in Ottawa, and he did in Montreal, they were very fortunate to have met each other and found the one that compliment them so well.
In the days and weeks leading to their engagement session, the weather was atrocious and we saw the worst rain and floods in 50 years. We were so worried it would continue to rain during their engagement session. Even on the way to Montreal, the river was almost the height of the highway, and we were worried that we would not be able to go back to Ottawa.
On our way to Montreal, the weather was unexpectedly nice, but by the time we arrived in Old Montreal, the weather was not looking so nice anymore. Just has we be parked the car, it started raining, and we thought that we would have to use all the gorgeous indoor location we had found. But fortunately the rain passed just as quickly as it came and we were able to start the session without umbrellas.
We walked around old Montreal to reach Notre Dame Basilica Square, David’s favorite place in the world. It has its favorite building, gorgeous architecture, and the Basilica. For me I was most excited about the gorgeous light. We found a perfect quiet place with the prettiest light and I was so excited to be able to capture their love for each other in the best light, pun intended.
We then drove to the exact location where David had proposed Nina only a few months prior, at the top of Mont Royal. As soon as we arrived, David went down on one knee re-enacted the Proposal. Nina was so surprised and so excited that this special moment was capture on camera. They then went to change into their favorite band t-shirt did a few more fun photos capturing how joyful they are together.
I am so happy to be able to share these images with you. Having now fixed my blog, I hope to be able to post more regularly.
