When I met Ali and Kyle to talk about their wedding, I immediately knew they were my kind of couples. They were laidback, loved dogs and were excited about marrying each other. We talked about possible locations for their engagement session and they mentioned they lived on a large proprety with fields, forests and a creek. We all agreed it was the perfect location for their sunset engagement session in Carp.
Fast forward to last Thursday when we met for their sunset engagement session in Carp, Ontario on a nice cooler but sunny evening. We had planned to meet the day before, but the forecast was really bad with thunderstorms and a tornado watch for earlier in the day!!
I was so happy we rescheduled because the sunset created the most amazing light and glow over the forest. We started the evening with some romantic portraits of the two of them before going to get their dogs for more playful, casual and laidback photos. The whole evening Ali walked around barefoot really enjoying walking in nature. She even let me know that she would also get married barefoot!
Their property was really nice and their house was built a long time ago by a family friend. Since they both work near Carp, they almost never have to go in the city.
The day after the sunset engagement session, Ali was getting picked up at 4am by her girlfriends for a secret bachelorette getaway. Kyle knew she was going to BC, but was able to keep the secret. They are getting married in a few short weeks on a friend’s property in Kars.
Ali and Kyle, I absolutely loved spending the evening with you and your two pups 🙂 I had a great time and my mosquito bights have finally stopped hitching. I cannot wait to photograph your wedding day in a few weeks!
